Provide electricity at a reasonable price. Be involved in community trends to determine expansion needs, provide education on electrical safety. Care about the community they are serving.

Most importantly, the electric cooperative's role is to provide electricity at a reasonable price and in an environmentally responsible way.

I agree.

program that reaches out to especially disabled/elderly/those dependant on electricity during power outages to make sure they are ok

Providing fair pricing. Educating members on how to reduce electric use by being environmentally aware of impact.

fair pricing structure for a range of customer income levels (tiered pricing/subsidies)

outreach for education, safety

encourage both customer and employee involvement in volunteerism

Providing reliable power at affordable prices.

providing reliable service at a fair price, programs to help those facing financial issues pay for their electric uses. Electricity generation should be as environmentally friendly as possible, use solar, wind, etc, whatever is available and best suited.

The only role that should come to mind is that of providing clean, affordable electricity as safely as possible. Any other "community role" is just wasting our money.

Providing reliable electricity at the best possible rate is really the only responsibility of the coop. Extras for the community would be providing educational courses concerning electricity, renewables, how to go about adding solar or wind power on your property and tying into the grid. If the coop has excess funds to spend on charity then they need to lower the price for power.

Agreed.

Providing electric at a reasonable rate.

Providing clean and afordable electricity. Also education of the ways to safe power as well as new developemnts and safety.

Providing reliable electricity at the best possible rate. Also having a logical voting system. Last year voting was illogical--pictures of the people running were sent out, asking us to vote WITH NO INFORMATION ABOUT WHAT THEY BELIEVED OR WOULD DO IF VOTED IN. When I reached out about it they said, well you could email them... so I took the extra time in my busy week to email each, and not everybody responded. How many people have time to email for the info? How can we vote off a photo? How can we enact change that way? It makes me distrust GVP cause it seemed like y'all just wanted to keep the community ignorant so they wouldn't vote out the people you want in.

Ability to keep the power on, using preventive measures such as tree trimming and fast response to outages

Providing reliable power at the best price possible utilizing a mixture of sources whilst exercising discretion in choices to safeguard natural resources.

Providing education/safety/emergency response training/information to members.

I've never thought of it as more than the electric company. Never realized it could be more.

Keeping our electric on, providing affordable rates, and giving back to the community.

It is great to have business involvement in our community, but the primary goal should be the power business above all else

I think the primary role that the electric coop should have in the community is affordable, reliable energy, and easy access to customer reps in times of problems or outages.

Affordable electricity.
Alternatives that generate electricity needed to cool, heat, allow cooking meals, telephone use, lastly television.
I mention this in an order/ranking priorities for the community.
