Who's supposed to perform security updates? Are they handled elsewhere? We’ve never updated it?
Learn how to make a network more secure would be very helpful. Is it possible to have a secure, hidden network for us while also keeping a portion open for guests, where we can provide a guest login and password?
How do different devices affect our network security? Does an Alexa or Google Nest decrease our network's security? What steps can we take to improve security?
Best ways to increase Wi-Fi coverage in the home to avoid dead zones? Do Wi-Fi extenders compromise network security?

I agree! I want to know how secure my Internet is for browsing and keeping my system safe from Internet hackers.

I guess the term digital literacy probably has more of a meaning than what I understand.

I would like to be able to receive information on my utilization of the internet service. The equipment we have doesn't easily lend itself to understanding how much bandwidth is being used at any given time. This type of info would be helpful when deciding on adding things that connect to the internet, such as cameras or other smart home devices that consume resources.

It also doesn't easily allow for implementing security solutions that can be placed at the gateway, without the customer having to add their own equipment.

If I am mistaken, I would be interested in information on how to do these thinbgs with the issued equipment.

At this time I can't come up with anything. Whenever I do have something I'm not sure or I just google my question.

I'll go along with Scott's comments above. It would be nice if the modem allowed end user security settings that would protect the whole home network. Being able to add a storage device to the modem and have it functions as a light weight NAS might be nice too.

maybe help educate users on modem/router suggested upgrade options. Now a days, something even 2-3 yrs old could be vulnerable to getting hacked. Ex would be like upgrading ones phone every 3-4 yrs or so, and all mee safety features the upgrade provides.

Also, i'll use the mvlink app on my phone to do speed test & check devises. Occasionally i'll notice mac addresses that i have no idea who/where they are comimg from. Maybe a bit paranoid, but worry someone unknown could be on our 'secure' network. i've called, talked with tech, but was unable to learn of source.

addtional education and tutorials on security as well as education on upgrades available/needed would be welcome.

Security topics are always shifting and changing. I think it is important to keep updating and supporting members in this area.

Security is a paramount issue, we as customers can only do so much without "stepping" on toes. The more secure our service is the better.

I agree with the major theme in others responses. I think more educational material on security and scam avoidance would be beneficial. I know as I get older, I find it impossible to stay up on technology and the ever-changing ways it is used for malicious purposes.

I don't know much about the latest in digital security so I appreciate the newsletter articles. Keep pushing out this info.

a tutorial on home security would be nice
the main reason I have broadband is that otherwise I would have no phone service at all where I live. I spent a few years trying to use my phone without it and it was very frustrating

since I have been a customer, I haven't had to think about security issues, maybe some instructions on how to change your password.

I can't think of anything right now.

I am interested in education for improved security.

I concur with Scott's comments.

Staying updated on security issues is most important. I know scammers and cyberthieves often target older persons, and I like to be aware of current scams and steps I can take to maintain and improve security.

at this time i dont have anything.

I would like to stay more up to date on the ever evolving cyber security topic.

More information on the online security features that are available would be quite helpful

Security is super important, especially for those of us who have been hacked. So education, advice or online tutorials on how to protect ourselves would be good.

more education on security issues would be helpful

As additional services and features are developed, it is imperative that the service highlight these developments and how useful it can be for the end user. Granted we all may not have a specific use, but letting end users know how the system could be used for a more safe and efficient system is necessary.

Security and protection of software. Would definitely like MV Link to provide a better router than what we tried in the past and went back to our own.

In response to the security and scammer concerns, my previous employer had a service that would randomly send test emails and text to the employees that would replicate the tactics that scammers would use to get you to click on a bad link. If you clicked the link a big WARNING would flash up telling you that you got scammed. every email had a button to sellect if you suspected a scam also. It was a very effective learning tool.

Definitely more cyber security support. Any tips or tricks to avoid any hiccups in the streaming service. I have noticed we will drop connections or buffer more often in the overnight hours, and we have less draw at that time. Not sure why that is.

Just keep customers updated on current scams and phishing.

I think digital security is important. Need a secure internet to pay bills, look at personal infomration. More infomration on how to better secure our internet services would be helpful

I appreciate the co-op providing base online access. I am able to take care of my own digital literacy and security needs.

Nothing additional at this time and Whenever I do have something I'm not sure on I just google my question.

I would like instructions on how to change your password. Other than that, I can't really think of anything. The company does a really good job of putting informational pamphlets in our bill.

Overall, I'm fine with how the system works and using the app to change passwords or monitor my system, so i currently do not need any guidance.

  • Spotting/avoiding online scams

  • reminding the importance of installing security updates in a timely fashion

  • basic online safety, etc

Education about security is the most important.
